Sivik Psychosomaticism Test and Test of Operational Style - Construct Validity: Relationship with Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-r)
نویسندگان
چکیده
To evaluate the construct validity (convergent and divergent) of SPSOPER test, 88 healthy participants and 285 psychosomatic patients completed the tests. Pearson correlation coefficients between SPS scales and subscales and Toronto Alexithymia Scale Revised (TAS-r) were calculated. Most SPS subscales and OPER are significantly correlated to TAS-r. The correlations are higher for the patient group than for the normal population group, and higher in the under-emotional patient group than both the healthy control and the total patient group. The results are in concordance with our hypotheses. This demonstrates good construct validity of the SPS and OPER tests, and supports the assumptions that the TAS-r test measures general distress related to psychosomaticism.

The objective of this study is to examine the factor structure and internal consistency of the Korean version of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20K) in normal adolescents in South Korea. METHODS The TAS-20K was administered to a sample of 290 adol...
متن کاملCross-cultural alexithymia: validity of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale in North American aboriginal populations.
OBJECTIVE The generalizability of the alexithymia construct to North American aboriginal culture was examined by assessing the replicability of the factor structure of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) in two different adult samples. The study also assessed the reliability of the scale and the influence of gender, age, and education on alexithymia levels. METHOD The first sample ...

متن کاملValidation of a Greek adaptation of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale.
BACKGROUND The purpose of the current investigation was (1) to test whether the 3-factor structure of the 20-item Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) corresponding to the theoretical conceptualization of the alexithymia construct could be recovered in a Greek translation of the scale (the TAS-20-G), (2) to assess if a 3-factor structure provides a better fit to the TAS-20-G compared with the rec...
